Gillespie Memorial Church is a worshipping community that prioritises engagement with young people. We have employed a dedicated Youth Pastor since 2020 and are building links with local schools. We want to give young people to opportunity to use their unique gifts, their authentic voice, to lead and to serve within our church.

  • OpenHouse Youth Cafe

    This is a community outreach on a Friday night where young people aged 12-18 have a space to call their own in the community.

    OpenHouse is kitted out with Xbox, Table Tennis, Café, Card Games, Sofas, Darts and more. The aim at OpenHouse is to connect and serve with young people around our community by providing space to claim as a home away from home. It is a place where you can invite friends, relax, have a hot chocolate and chat or play games.

  • OpenHouse CON-verse

    CON-verse is a monthly offering where the team at OpenHouse set out to challenge young people to wrestle with the issues and challenges they face today, asking the question “why do you believe what you believe?” CON-verse is a place for young people to have their voice heard and to hear the voices of others. It is about both speaking AND listenning as we respect and value all opinions as CON-verse allows for that bit deeper conversation about life.

    Some themes in the past have included ‘Thinking About Morality: Where Do We Get Our Beliefs From?’ and more recently ‘What Is Christmas Actually All About: What Do You Think?’

  • Youth Fellowship

    Our young people of high school age meet each and every Sunday straight after the service to spend precious time with one another. We attempt to sharpen each other in faith with round table discussion, questions and answers around that days bible passage in our Soul Survivor: Bible In A Year which which is our guide. Relationships, Fun, Discipleship and Christ is central to all that we do at Gillespie Youth Fellowship.

  • Magnitude

    Magnitude is an annual Christian youth camp held at Lendrick muir, in the countryside around 10 miles from Dunfermline.. Similar to format to a conventional music festival, it also features sports, leisure and the opportunity to know more of God.

  • Young Adults (18-35)

    On the first Saturday of the month we hold a young adults’ night in the Gillespie Centre to promote fellowship, in a space where those in faith can come and be encouraged in that faith, yet it is also a place where those curious about faith in Christ can feel totally at home and welcomed. This evening is planned around food, with a meal together along with a special guest who comes and shares their life story of how they came to faith or testify to God’s goodness in their life.
